American newspapers are the dullest in the English-speaking world, and the fastest dying. One assumes they’ve been assured by Obama insiders that, come the second term, they’ll be eligible for a GM-style union-boondoggled jobs-for-life bailout — because their determination to sacrifice what’s left of their product to the needs of the Democratic party is truly spectacular.
“Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.”
Citing a Mexican Army document itobtained and published, Univision reported that “[t]hree of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).”So the Left’s it’s-different-when-we-do-it card applies not just to unmanned drones on Waziristani villagers, but Mexican adolescents gunned down at a birthday party. Would it be too much to ask one of the Pulitzer-laden bores at theNew York Times or the Emmy-garlanded chaps at the network news divisions to look into this? Oh, no, wait! Look, over there! The coolest president ever is doing a photo-op with Beyonce!
How many dead Mexican teenagers does it take to change a light news day? As the Pundette says:
I guess none of those 14 kids killed or 12 injured looked enough like Obama’s hypothetical sons to matter?Indeed. If only George Zimmerman had shot Trayvon Martin with an ATF gun, all his problems would have gone away . . .
